The Biennial Cultural Constructions Conference March 23-24, 2023

CREATIVE ACTS: REIMAGINING AND REMAKING THE WORLD

The Department of Modern Languages at the University of Texas at Arlington invites undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and independent scholars and artists, to propose research and creative works for our biennial two-day Cultural Constructions Conference titled Creative Acts: Reimagining and Remaking the World. We want to stimulate an interdisciplinary conversation about how art and creative expression reinterpret and reimagine the world in various languages and cultures We invite proposals for artist talks, poetry and flash fiction readings, scholarly analyses of literature, film, culture, linguistic phenomena, and art, and scholarly reflections on research creation, methodology, and interdisciplinarity. We are delighted to announce that Will Evans, the founder of the independent publishing house Deep Vellum and an award-winning member of the Texas Institute of Letters, will be our keynote speaker.

The Conference will take place on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington, in the sixth floor parlor of the main library.
